The University of Iowa Veterans Association is always here to help you no matter what portion of your education you're in. Military and veteran students are an important part of the Hawkeye family. The global experience, leadership skills, and discipline you bring to our campus are an incredible asset to the University of Iowa community and our classrooms. The goal of our programming is to connect you with resources that will help you get involved on campus, meet with your peers, and prepare you to achieve your personal, academic, and career aspirations upon graduation.

WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO STOP BY OUR OFFICE TO SEE HOW YOU CAN:

  • Engage: Find community and receive support transitioning into civilian life. Inquire about: Peer Advisors for Veteran Education (PAVE), University of Iowa Veteran Association (UIVA) student organization
  • Achieve: Learn about job opportunities & develop skills for transitioning into the labor force. Our services include: Career/Employment Development & Outreach, Resume Development, Internships, Interviewing Skills
  • Excel: Access academic resources & guidance. We have: A tutoring network, On Campus Vet Center (computers, free printing, and lounge space), Campus Networks (Advising, Financial Aid, Registrar’s Office)
  • Choose: Make your mental and physical health a priority with referrals to support services on campus and in the community. University services include: Mental Health Professionals, Student Disability Services, Therapy/Counseling Services
