The University of Iowa Veterans Association is teaming up with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Student Veterans Organization to ruck march the game ball from Memorial Stadium in Lincoln Nebraska 344 miles to Kinnick Stadium for the November 25th Cornhusker vs. Hawkeye football game.
Ruckers will be carrying 22 lbs to honor the 22 Veterans who take their own lives every day. The 22 lb will be made up of personal belongings of the volunteers ruck marcher which hold significance to their personal military experience or which honors the service of friends or family. The 344 mile ruck march will kick off on Thursday November 17 th 2016. Team Nebraska will hand off the game ball to Team Iowa on Monday November 21st at Freedom Rock 1199 IA-25 Menlo, Iowa .
On the final day of the ruck, Friday November 25th, everyone who participated in the ruck march thought the week is invited to meet up with the final days ruckers and complete the last part of the ruck to Kinnick Stadium together. We will be meeting at the Dillard's parking lot which is located on the south side of Coral Ridge mall. Parking there is free. All participants will be responsible for their own transportation back to Coral Ridge Mall.
