Veterans Day Flag Display

The University of Iowa Veterans Association will organize the third annual Veterans Day flag display on the west lawn of the Pentacrest with the assistance from high school students involved with the Upward Bound program.

Approximately 5,500 small American flags are donated to honor and identify veterans individually who are linked to the University of Iowa and/or community to form one united letter “I”.

Each flag is individually dedicated by people like you via our flag registration site below. Each tag will show the Veterans name, rank, years of service, and tours if they were activated for any.

On the morning of  November 11, 2016 the UIVA and Reserve Officer’s Training Corps will honor Iowa’s veterans with a reveille ceremony and raising of the American flag over the Old Capitol.

Flag dedications will be taken in till 5:00 pm on Thursday November 3th, 2016
